Qǐshìlù Sì Qíshì #17

Qǐshìlù Sì Qíshì, translated as Book of Revelation: The Four Horsemen, emerged during the late 20th-century expansion of the Hong Kong manhua industry. Produced during a period when the genre was heavily influenced by cinematic pacing and darker, apocalyptic aesthetics, the series sought to reinterpret classic biblical themes through the lens of stylized martial arts and supernatural conflict. The creators aimed to bridge the gap between traditional storytelling and the high-octane visual demands of a rapidly evolving domestic comic market.

The series is noted for its intricate, often gritty ink work, which emphasizes the shifting tensions between its titular horsemen. Issue 17 follows the established visual language of the run, utilizing dynamic panel layouts to convey complex combat choreography and mounting narrative stakes. While it occupies a niche space in the landscape of Hong Kong serial comics, it remains a documented example of the artistic ambition prevalent in the region's mid-90s creative circles.
