Queen & Country #24

Queen & Country, issue 24, was published in 2004 by Oni Press as the conclusion of the 'Operation: Dandelion' story arc. Created by novelist and comic book writer Greg Rucka, the series focuses on the operational and personal lives of agents working for the British Secret Intelligence Service. The series is celebrated for its grounded, procedural approach to espionage, distinguishing itself from more fantastical spy fiction by emphasizing the bureaucratic and moral complexities of intelligence work.

The interior art for this issue was provided by Leandro Fernández, whose gritty and shadowed style contributed significantly to the series' cinematic, tension-filled aesthetic. Rucka’s writing on this title was consistently praised for its realistic dialogue and the deliberate pacing that allowed the political fallout of the agents' actions to resonate. Upon release, the series became a touchstone for readers interested in realistic thrillers, eventually leading to a spin-off novel series and a long-standing critical reputation for narrative integrity.
