Rai #5

Rai #5 was published by Valiant Comics in 1992 as part of the publisher's burgeoning shared universe. The series, set in a dystopian 41st-century Japan, was created by writer David Michelinie and artist Sal Velluto. The issue serves as a critical bridge in the narrative arc, deepening the exploration of the protagonist's internal conflict and his role as the protector of a futuristic, high-tech society.

The visual aesthetic of the issue follows the house style established by Valiant during the early 1990s, characterized by detailed line work and a focus on integrating traditional cyberpunk themes with distinct mythological undertones. At the time of its release, the title was well-regarded for its world-building and its departure from the more traditional superhero tropes prevalent in the broader comic book market of that era.
