Roll Over and Die: I Will Fight for an Ordinary Life with My Love and Cursed Sword! #1

Roll Over and Die: I Will Fight for an Ordinary Life with My Love and Cursed Sword! began as a light novel series written by kiki and illustrated by k Clow. Published by Micro Magazine under their GC Novels imprint starting in 2020, the series emerged during a period of rising popularity for dark fantasy narratives within the light novel market, particularly those that blend traditional 'isekai' tropes with visceral action and sapphic romance.

The character designs and interior illustrations by k Clow are noted for their stark contrast between the fragile, unassuming appearance of the protagonist, Flum Apricot, and the grim, perilous environment of the dungeon world she inhabits. Upon its release, the first volume was well-received for its subversion of genre expectations and its focus on character development, eventually leading to a manga adaptation and an English-language license from Seven Seas Entertainment.
