Ryūrōden: Ōha Rikkoku-Hen #12

Ryūrōden: Ōha Rikkoku-Hen, or Legend of the Dragon Son: The Era of Six Nations, serves as the second major arc of Yoshito Yamahara’s long-running historical fantasy epic. The series began its life in Kodansha's Monthly Shōnen Magazine, expanding on the original narrative which follows a Japanese schoolboy transported back to the Three Kingdoms period of ancient China. This specific volume, the twelfth in the sequel series, continues the author's tradition of blending rigorous historical setting with supernatural elements and martial arts choreography.

The design and artistic direction of the series remain consistent with Yamahara’s gritty, detailed aesthetic, which prioritizes dense character designs and expansive battlefield layouts to ground the fantastical plot in a tangible atmosphere. Throughout the run of Ōha Rikkoku-Hen, the manga has been noted for its focus on the strategic complexities of the era, drawing heavily from the classic Romance of the Three Kingdoms while subverting the fates of its historical figures. It remains a staple of the seinen-leaning shōnen genre, maintaining a dedicated following among readers interested in the intersection of Chinese history and speculative fiction.
