Saikyou Kenshi, Saiteihen Kishidan de Funsenchuu: Orc wo Chinohate made Oitsumete Zettai ni Shimatsu suru dake no Kantan? Na Oshigoto desu #1

Saikyou Kenshi, Saiteihen Kishidan de Funsenchuu is a light novel series written by Banpai Akira, which began publication in 2020. The narrative fits within the popular 'isekai' and fantasy adventure genre, focusing on a protagonist who possesses immense combat prowess but finds himself relegated to a low-ranking knight order tasked with the repetitive and grueling work of hunting orcs. The series originated as a web novel on platforms like Shosetsuka ni Naro before being serialized in print, reflecting the industry trend of translating digital grassroots successes into established light novel franchises.

The character designs and illustrations for the series are provided by artist Fal Maro. The aesthetic leans into the standard tropes of modern Japanese fantasy light novels, utilizing high-energy, dynamic character profiles to emphasize the protagonist's superior skill in contrast to the dire reputation of his unit. The first volume was received as a lighthearted action-fantasy entry, capturing the interest of readers looking for a blend of cynical workplace tropes mixed with traditional heroic feats.
