Sasen Deshitara Yorokonde! ~Oukyuu Majutsushi no Dai Ni no Jinsei wa Nonbiri, Mofumofu, Tokidoki Kinoko?~ #3

Sasen Deshitara Yorokonde! is a light novel series that emerged from the popular Japanese web novel scene, where authors serialise stories online before they are acquired for print publication. The series fits firmly within the 'slow life' fantasy subgenre, focusing on a protagonist who moves away from the pressures of high-stakes court life to enjoy a quieter existence, often involving magical creatures and foraging. This third volume continues the established narrative arc, maintaining the series' reputation for lighthearted escapism and low-conflict world-building.

The physical edition features character designs and illustrations that define the series' visual identity, leaning into the soft, aesthetic-driven style common in contemporary Japanese light novel publishing. The design process for these volumes typically involves a close collaboration between the author and an illustrator to capture the 'mofumofu'—or fluffy—element of the magical beasts featured in the story. Upon release, the volume was received as a gentle continuation of the series' established tone, catering specifically to readers looking for consistent comfort-reading tropes.
