Schloss der Tiere #4

Schloss der Tiere, known in English as The Animal Castle, is a contemporary graphic novel series written by Xavier Dorison and illustrated by Félix Delep. Inspired by George Orwell's Animal Farm, the series presents a fable about social revolution and resistance within a farmyard setting. The fourth volume continues the narrative arc of Miss B, a rabbit whose character development serves as the moral center of this political allegory.

Félix Delep’s artistic style for the series utilizes a lush, textured approach reminiscent of classical animation, which contrasts sharply with the often grim subject matter. Published by Casterman, the series has been noted by critics for its sophisticated exploration of power dynamics and non-violent protest. The work was developed to provide a nuanced, modern perspective on revolutionary ethics, finding significant acclaim in the European francophone market for its visual depth and thematic complexity.
