Sekai de Tada Hitori no Jidō Doll-Zukai #1

Sekai de Tada Hitori no Jidō Doll-Zukai, written by Akutami and illustrated by Kikkaiki, debuted as a light novel series before being adapted into manga format. The narrative centers on a protagonist who serves as the sole individual capable of operating a specific type of autonomous mechanical doll, exploring themes of companionship and the ethics of artificial existence within a fantasy framework.

The character designs and visual style were crafted to evoke a sense of melancholy and precision, characteristic of the genre’s shift toward more character-driven dramas in the late 2010s. Upon its release, the first issue was noted by readers for its intricate world-building and the emotive quality of its artwork, establishing a dedicated following that appreciated the stark contrast between the mechanical nature of the dolls and the human vulnerability of the lead character.
