Sekkaku Cheat wo Moratte Isekai ni Teni shita n dakara, Suki na you ni Ikitemitai #1

Sekkaku Cheat wo Moratte Isekai ni Teni shita n dakara, Suki na you ni Ikitemitai, often referred to by the shortened title Isekai Cheat, originated as a Japanese light novel series written by Shizuku Usui. First serialized online on the platform Shosetsuka ni Naro in 2013, the story follows a protagonist who is transported to a fantasy world and decides to live a carefree life using the cheat abilities he was granted upon arrival. The narrative leans heavily into the popular isekai trope of a powerful protagonist seeking personal satisfaction rather than heroics, reflecting the shift in light novel trends toward slice-of-life and wish-fulfillment fantasies during that period.

Following its digital success, the series was published in print by SB Creative under their GA Novel imprint, featuring illustrations by the artist Fame. The character designs emphasize a clean, modern aesthetic common in light novels of the mid-2010s, aiming to visualize the protagonist’s transition from a standard life to one of relative freedom and comfort in a magical environment. The work was well-received within the light novel community, leading to a manga adaptation and cementing its place in the extensive library of works popularized by the isekai boom.
