Shíjǐ zhī Líng #17

Shíjǐ zhī Líng, or Spirit of the Century, emerged as a significant title within the domestic Chinese manhua landscape, reflecting the shifting aesthetic sensibilities of the mid-2000s. Issue number 17 was produced during a period when the series was cementing its reputation for blending traditional narrative motifs with a modernized, stylized artistic approach intended to capture a younger, urban readership.

The creative direction for this series emphasized highly detailed character designs and complex panel layouts, a hallmark of the collaborative studio efforts typical of the era's output. Upon its release, the issue was received as a stable entry in a long-running narrative arc, valued by readers for its technical consistency and its role in maintaining the series' thematic continuity amidst a competitive market for serialized graphic fiction.
