Shugo Chara! 20th Anniversary Edition #1

Released to commemorate the twentieth anniversary of Peach-Pit’s beloved magical girl series, this special edition marks the return of Amu Hinamori’s story to print. The original Shugo Chara! manga debuted in 2006, quickly becoming a defining title of the mid-2000s shojo genre by blending character-driven drama with the transformation tropes popularized by series like Sailor Moon. This anniversary edition is designed to introduce the series to a new generation of readers while honoring the original aesthetic that defined the manga’s long-standing influence.

Peach-Pit, the creative duo consisting of Banri Sendo and Shibuko Ebara, oversaw the presentation of this volume, which features updated cover art and high-quality production standards. The series was initially celebrated for its complex exploration of self-identity and the 'guardian characters' that manifest from a child's hidden desires. Upon its initial serialization in Nakayoshi magazine, the series gained international recognition, and this anniversary release serves as both a retrospective of the duo’s artistic evolution and a tribute to the enduring popularity of the series’ core themes.
