Shuumatsu no Valkyrie - Record of Ragnarök #2

Record of Ragnarök, known in Japan as Shuumatsu no Valkyrie, began serialization in Monthly Comic Zenon in November 2017. Created by writers Shinya Umemura and Takumi Fukui with illustrations by the duo Ajichika, the series explores a grand tournament where thirteen gods and thirteen humans battle for the fate of humanity. Volume 2, which collects the early chapters of the series, continues the inaugural clash between Thor and Lü Bu, establishing the high-stakes, action-oriented tone that became the series' signature.

The character designs were crafted by Ajichika, who employed a detailed, muscular aesthetic that emphasizes the sheer scale and power of the divine and historical combatants. The series received significant attention for its bold reimagining of mythological figures and historical icons, balancing kinetic fight sequences with elaborate backstories. Following its initial publication, the manga gained a massive international following, ultimately leading to an anime adaptation and a solidified presence in the modern seinen manga landscape.
