Star Trek: Deviations—Evermore #1

Star Trek: Deviations—Evermore #1 was released in 2024 as part of IDW Publishing’s broader Star Trek comic book line. The series was designed to explore 'what if' scenarios within the Star Trek universe, allowing writers and artists to diverge from established canon to imagine alternate outcomes for iconic characters and story arcs. This issue, in particular, focuses on re-examining key moments from the franchise’s history through a speculative lens, serving as a creative exercise in narrative experimentation.

The creative direction for this series leans into the visual legacy of the Star Trek aesthetic, blending modern comic book illustrative techniques with the familiar iconography of the various television series. The design intention was to provide long-time fans with a fresh perspective while maintaining the thematic integrity of Gene Roddenberry’s original vision. Upon its release, the issue was received as a niche entry in the expansive Star Trek literature, appealing primarily to collectors interested in alternate timeline storytelling and the evolving scope of IDW’s licensed expansion of the franchise.
