Star Trek: The Next Generation #57

Published in 1994 by DC Comics, Star Trek: The Next Generation #57 emerged during the later years of the series' seven-season television run. As part of a long-standing licensing partnership between Paramount and DC, this issue contributed to a vast library of expanded universe stories that sought to bridge the gaps between television episodes. The comic series allowed writers to explore narrative arcs and character dynamics that the constraints of a weekly television production schedule often precluded.

The issue features the work of writer Michael Jan Friedman and illustrator Peter Krause. Friedman was a prolific contributor to the Star Trek literary landscape, known for his commitment to maintaining the internal logic and tone of the series. The aesthetic reflected the standard DC house style of the mid-1990s, focusing on clear, action-oriented panels that captured the likenesses of the Enterprise-D crew while leaning into the heightened visual language of serialized science fiction storytelling.
