Starman #61

Starman #61, titled 'Grand Guignol, Part 6: The Way It Is,' was published by DC Comics in 2002 as a penultimate chapter of the acclaimed series written by James Robinson. This issue emerged during the climax of the multi-part 'Grand Guignol' arc, which serves as the emotional and narrative resolution to the long-running saga of Jack Knight, the reluctant hero of Opal City. The series was celebrated for its literary depth and focus on legacy, and this issue reflects the culmination of the character development Robinson meticulously crafted over the previous five years.

The interior art for this issue was provided by Peter Snejbjerg, whose work was instrumental in defining the visual aesthetic of the latter half of the series. Snejbjerg’s grounded, moody style was specifically chosen to contrast with the more traditional superhero elements, emphasizing the human and historical dimensions of the Knight family story. The issue was well-received by fans and critics alike, praised for its willingness to confront the consequences of the series' events and for maintaining the high standard of narrative sophistication that became the hallmark of Robinson’s tenure.
