Suterare Ōji no Saikyō Ikada Kokka: Omae wa Gomi da to Tsuihō Sareta Node, Muda Sukiru [Risaikuru] wo Tsukatte Gomi Atsukai Sareta Monotachi de Kaijō Toshi wo Kizukimasu #1

This light novel series began as a web novel serialized on the Japanese user-generated publishing platform Shōsetsuka ni Narō. Reflecting the popular isekai subgenre centered on protagonists who are exiled or discarded due to perceived incompetence, the story follows a prince who utilizes a supposedly useless skill to build a civilization on the sea. Its transition to print publication under the GC Novels imprint by Micro Magazine allowed the story to reach a broader audience, capitalizing on the demand for low-fantasy power fantasies featuring base-building and underdog narratives.

The character designs and illustrations for the series are provided by the artist known as Yūri. The visual style adheres to contemporary light novel aesthetic standards, emphasizing clean line work and expressive character portraits that define the personality of the exiled prince and his companions. Upon its initial release, the volume was received as a quintessential example of the 'banished hero' trope, appealing to readers who enjoy light-hearted management simulations mixed with fantasy world-building.
