Tales of Evil #3

Tales of Evil was a short-lived horror anthology series published by Red Circle Comics, an imprint of Archie Comics, during the early 1980s. The series was designed to capitalize on the then-popular trend of gritty, supernatural comic books, providing an outlet for stories that fell outside the wholesome image associated with the Archie brand. It aimed to deliver suspenseful, mature-themed narratives that mirrored the stylistic choices of classic EC Comics publications.

Issue number 3 reflects the collaborative efforts of the creative teams working within the Archie Comics stable during this era, often featuring work by artists and writers who balanced traditional illustrative techniques with the darker, atmospheric requirements of the horror genre. While the series was met with modest interest at the time of its release, it has since become a point of curiosity for collectors focused on the mid-1980s direct-market comic landscape, serving as a distinct departure from the publisher's more familiar output.
