Teen Titans #47

Teen Titans #47 was published in 1977 as part of the series' mid-seventies revival, a period when DC Comics sought to explore more mature, interpersonal storylines for the team. This issue is particularly notable for featuring work by writer Bob Rozakis and artist Juan Ortiz, who were tasked with maintaining the momentum of the Titans as they transitioned toward the more iconic characterizations that would define them in the 1980s.

The issue fits into a transitional era for DC, where the editorial team was experimenting with tone, often blending traditional superhero action with grounded, soap-opera-style relationship drama. The design and narrative intent were aimed at balancing the legacy of the original sidekick team with the need to distinguish these characters as young adults, a goal that would eventually culminate in the massive success of the later New Teen Titans relaunch.
