THB: M3/THB: Mars' Mightiest Mek #1

Mars' Mightiest Mek #1 is the inaugural issue of a science fiction comic series published under the THB imprint during the mid-1990s. This title emerged as part of a wave of independent, character-driven adventure comics that sought to explore pulp-inspired tropes with a modern, gritty aesthetic. It was designed to anchor the M3 sub-line, centering on a robotic protagonist navigating the harsh, industrial environments of a stylized Martian frontier.

The series is noted for its distinctive visual style, characterized by heavy line work and dynamic paneling intended to emphasize the mechanical scale of its titular character. While the creative team drew inspiration from golden-age space opera serials, the narrative tone was intentionally crafted to be more cynical and survivalist. Upon its release, it was received primarily as a cult curio, appealing to a niche segment of collectors who favored experimental indie science fiction over mainstream superhero fare.
