The Amazing Spider-Man #144

The Amazing Spider-Man number 144 was published by Marvel Comics in May 1975 during the Bronze Age of comic books. This issue represents a significant transition in the title as it features the writing of Gerry Conway, who was instrumental in shaping the tone of Spider-Man stories during this era. The narrative continues to explore the personal and professional struggles of Peter Parker, balancing his life as a graduate student with the mounting dangers of his costumed identity.

The interior artwork for this issue was provided by Ross Andru, a definitive artist for the series throughout the mid-1970s. Andru was known for his dynamic, clear-cut illustrative style, which effectively captured the kinetic energy of Spider-Man in action while maintaining a grounded, human appearance for the supporting cast. The cover art, famously featuring the Green Goblin, was illustrated by Gil Kane, whose work helped define the visual language of Marvel villains during this period and remains highly regarded by collectors for its dramatic flair.
