The Amazing Spider-Man #387

The Amazing Spider-Man #387 was published by Marvel Comics in February 1994, appearing during a period of transition and high-octane storytelling in the Spider-Man line. It sits within the 'Lifespan' story arc, a narrative that saw the web-slinger grappling with the resurgence of classic threats and the evolving nature of his personal life, captured during an era where Marvel editorial often emphasized cinematic layouts and character-driven stakes.

The issue features art by Mark Bagley, whose clean, dynamic, and highly expressive penciling defined the aesthetic of the title throughout the early 1990s. Working alongside writer J.M. DeMatteis, Bagley crafted a visual tone that balanced the gritty intensity of Spider-Man's conflicts with the emotional vulnerabilities of Peter Parker. Upon release, the issue was received as a quintessential example of the modern bronze-to-modern age transition, serving as a reliable entry in a long-running series that maintained its popularity through its consistent creative team.
