The Flash #346

The Flash #346, published by DC Comics in June 1985, arrived during a pivotal period for the character. As part of the 'Trial of the Flash' storyline, this issue captured the series near its original conclusion, just before the character-wide restructuring of the DC Universe in Crisis on Infinite Earths. The narrative, written by Cary Bates with interior art by Carmine Infantino, focused on the legal and psychological turmoil facing Barry Allen following the death of his arch-nemesis, Eobard Thawne.

Carmine Infantino, a legendary figure in the history of the Flash and a key architect of the Silver Age of comics, provided the dynamic, clean-lined aesthetic that defined this era. By the time this issue was released, Infantino’s work was celebrated for its consistency and grounding of the character's erratic, high-speed world. While this specific issue is often noted by collectors for its place in the winding down of the long-running original series, it serves as a testament to the enduring collaboration between Bates and Infantino during one of the most high-stakes arcs in Barry Allen's history.
