Where it came from
The Patriots #2 is part of a limited comic book series published by Image Comics, emerging from the independent creator-owned movement that defined the mid-1990s. The series was designed to explore themes of political intrigue and vigilantism, reflecting the cynicism toward institutional authority common in that era's speculative fiction.
The series features creative contributions consistent with the house style of Image Comics at the time, prioritizing dynamic, high-impact visuals and character-driven storytelling. It was received by readers as a gritty addition to the publisher's expanding universe, though it remains a niche entry compared to the company's flagship titles.
