Tsumugu to Koi ni Naru Futari #1

Tsumugu to Koi ni Naru Futari is a manga series written and illustrated by Yuki Yuki, first serialized in the Japanese magazine Bessatsu Friend in 2021. The series was developed as part of a modern wave of shojo manga, focusing on the nuanced interpersonal development of its leads, Tsumugu and Koko, who navigate the complexities of shifting from childhood friendship to a romantic dynamic. The narrative is noted for its gentle pacing and focus on domestic, everyday settings, reflecting a stylistic trend in contemporary manga that prioritizes emotional intimacy over high-stakes drama.

The visual design of the first volume showcases Yuki's soft, expressive art style, which utilizes delicate line work and deliberate shading to emphasize the characters' interior states. As the debut volume, it was intended to establish the specific aesthetic and tone of the series for readers of Bessatsu Friend, and it has since been received as a recognizable entry in the recent landscape of school-life romance manga, valued by collectors for its character-driven storytelling and clean, minimalist cover design.
