Twilight Zone #71

Twilight Zone #71 was published in 1975 by Gold Key Comics, a prominent publisher during the era of licensed television tie-ins. As part of a long-running series that began in 1962, this issue served as an anthology platform to translate the surreal, cautionary, and often eerie storytelling style of Rod Serling’s television program into the visual medium of comic books. By the mid-1970s, the series had established a consistent format that favored psychological tension and twist endings, appealing to readers who enjoyed the blend of science fiction and supernatural drama.

The art and editorial direction for this period of the series focused on maintaining the unsettling atmosphere of the source material through moody illustrations and tight, evocative plotting. While the specific creative team for issue #71 followed the established house style of Gold Key’s anthology line, these issues were generally received as modest cultural artifacts that helped sustain the brand’s intellectual legacy long after the original television series had concluded its initial run. The comic is now regarded as a nostalgic touchstone for collectors of 1970s horror and suspense literature.
