Ultimate Universe: Finale #1

Ultimate Universe: Finale #1 was published by Marvel Comics in 2009 as the definitive conclusion to the original Ultimate Marvel continuity. Written by Brian Michael Bendis and illustrated by Stuart Immonen, the issue serves to reconcile the fallout from the Ultimatum event, which drastically reshaped the line by killing off several major characters. It represents a pivot point for the imprint, shifting the focus toward a more streamlined and darker reality in the subsequent Ultimate Comics relaunch.

The creative team aimed to provide a somber, reflective tone for the series' transition, focusing on the surviving heroes grappling with the loss of their world's foundation. The design and narrative pacing were intended to offer closure to long-term readers while resetting the stakes for the next generation of Ultimate titles. Critically, it was received as a necessary, albeit melancholic, structural necessity to clear the board for future storytelling arcs within the multiversal architecture.
