Uncle Scrooge #61

Uncle Scrooge #61 was published by Boom! Studios in 2011 as part of their licensed run of Disney comic books. This era of production was notable for revitalizing classic Barks and Rosa-style storytelling for a new generation, often featuring high-quality reprints and new adventures that leaned into the established lore of Duckburg. The series was designed to maintain the integrity of the long-running Disney duck mythos while utilizing modern printing techniques and editorial oversight to appeal to both nostalgic adult collectors and contemporary readers.

The creative direction for this series focused on honoring the legacy of Carl Barks, the legendary creator of Uncle Scrooge, by pairing classic aesthetics with fresh narrative arcs. Artists and writers working under the Boom! license frequently aimed to capture the wit, grand-scale adventure, and distinct personality of the Scrooge McDuck character that had defined the title since its debut in the mid-20th century. Upon its release, the issue was received as a stable, respectful continuation of the Uncle Scrooge canon, contributing to the title's reputation as a cornerstone of licensed children's comics during that period.
