Where it came from
Uncle Scrooge #70 was published by Boom! Studios in 2011 as part of their licensed run of Disney comics. This era of publication was notable for its attempt to revitalize classic Duck tales through both new stories and the reprinting of legacy material, aiming to capture a dual audience of nostalgic long-term fans and a new generation of readers introduced to the characters through television adaptations.
The issue features artwork and storytelling rooted in the traditions established by Carl Barks and Don Rosa. The design philosophy behind this volume focused on preserving the distinct, adventurous spirit of the Scrooge McDuck canon while utilizing contemporary coloring and printing techniques to modernize the visual presentation. It was generally received as a respectful entry in the storied history of the publication, serving as a functional link between the golden age of Duck comics and modern industry standards.
