Vampirella X Witchblade #1

Vampirella X Witchblade #1 was released in 2005 as a crossover event published by Harris Comics and Top Cow Productions. The issue was conceived to unite two of the most iconic supernatural heroines in modern comics, blending the gothic, space-faring horror of Vampirella with the mystical, weaponized artifact themes of Sara Pezzini's Witchblade. This meeting of universes was a significant moment for fans of 1990s and early 2000s independent dark fantasy titles, capitalizing on the shared aesthetic appeal of both lead characters.

The issue was written by Rick Loverd and featured artwork by Jorge Pereira Lucas, who was tasked with bridging the distinct visual styles of both franchises. The design focus prioritized the character contrast between Vampirella’s classic crimson aesthetic and the organic, biomechanical armor of the Witchblade. Upon release, the title was received primarily as a collector's curiosity for established followers of these respective imprints, serving as a stylistic showcase that emphasized the collaborative potential between the two publishing houses.
