Vampyrates! #2

Vampyrates! #2 is a part of a short-lived independent comic series published by Antarctic Press during the mid-1990s. This series emerged during a period of experimentation within the small-press comic market, where creators often mashed up classic genre tropes—in this case, the gothic horror of vampires and the swashbuckling adventures of pirates—to capture the attention of niche audiences looking for irreverent or high-concept storytelling.

The series was driven by a commitment to the 'bad girl' art style that was highly prevalent in the independent scene of the era. The visuals focused on dynamic, stylized character designs meant to emphasize action and a pulp aesthetic. While the series did not achieve mainstream critical acclaim, it remains a documented example of the era's focus on genre-blending and the DIY spirit of independent publishers attempting to carve out a space alongside larger industry players.
