Versus #7

Versus was a notable fashion and culture magazine founded by Gianni Versace in 1993 as a sub-label extension of the Versace brand, intended to capture a younger, more rebellious, and experimental audience. Versus #7 arrived during a period where the publication functioned as a high-end showcase for the brand's aesthetic, blending avant-garde photography with editorial content that challenged the traditional boundaries between luxury marketing and art journalism.

The editorial direction for this issue was deeply influenced by the collaborative spirit between Gianni Versace and iconic photographers of the era. The visual language of the magazine was characterized by bold, hyper-stylized imagery that reflected the glam-rock and punk-inspired silhouettes for which the Versace brand was known at the time. It was received by the fashion community as a definitive artifact of 1990s maximalism, serving as both a catalogue for the diffusion line and a curated manifesto of the brand's cultural influence.
