Vinland Saga #28

Vinland Saga, created by manga artist Makoto Yukimura, began its serialization in 2005. The series transitioned from the seinen magazine Weekly Shonen Magazine to Afternoon, where it found its long-term home. Volume 28 represents a late-stage installment in the epic historical narrative, which follows the protagonist Thorfinn's journey through the Viking Age, focusing on his philosophical shift from a vengeful warrior to a seeker of peace in Vinland.

Makoto Yukimura’s design approach is characterized by detailed historical research and a nuanced, cinematic art style. Volume 28 continues the trend of refined character work and complex thematic exploration, reflecting the series' evolution from an action-oriented revenge tale into a character study on pacifism and colonial conflict. It is widely regarded by critics for its emotional depth and has maintained a consistent readership as one of the most acclaimed seinen series of the modern era.
