Walt Disney Daisy and Donald #40

Daisy and Donald #40 was published by Dell Comics during the mid-twentieth century as part of the prolific Gold Key and Dell era of Disney licensing. These comic books were crafted to capitalize on the immense popularity of Disney animation characters in print, serving as accessible, lighthearted entertainment for children during the golden age of the American newsstand comic book market.

The character designs and storytelling in this series were largely influenced by the established visual language of the Disney studios. While the scripts and layouts were produced by a rotating team of industry professionals at Western Publishing, the stories focused on the quintessential domestic and comedic dynamics between Donald and Daisy. At the time of its release, the issue was received as a standard entry in the broader Disney comics canon, valued primarily for its continuity of the familiar, beloved cartoon personalities.
