X-Factor #75

Published in February 1992, X-Factor #75 represents a pivotal moment in the series as it initiated the 'X-Aminations' storyline. Following the departure of the original creative team, writer Peter David took the helm, shifting the tone of the book toward a more satirical and character-driven approach. This issue was designed to re-establish the team under government oversight, featuring Larry Stroman as the primary illustrator, whose distinctively angular, expressive style defined the visual identity of this new era.

The issue serves as a soft reboot for the team, moving away from the more earnest tropes of the late eighties and leaning into a critique of bureaucratic superhero management. The design choices, particularly Stroman's energetic layouts and the addition of characters like Multiple Man and Quicksilver to the core lineup, were well-received for providing a fresh, witty perspective on the mutant struggle. It remains a hallmark of 1990s comic book shifts, marking the beginning of Peter David's critically lauded run on the title.
