Where it came from
The X-Factor: The Original X-Men Omnibus series was curated by Marvel Comics to collect the foundational years of the X-Factor title, which launched in 1986. This specific volume serves as a comprehensive archive of the middle to later stages of the team's initial run, centering on the reunion of the five original X-Men—Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Beast, Iceman, and Angel—who operated under the guise of mutant hunters to investigate mutant activity and assist those in need.
The design of the collection leans into the iconic visual storytelling of the 1980s, primarily featuring work by artists such as Walt Simonson and Louise Simonson, who were instrumental in shaping the tone and direction of the series. The omnibus format is aimed at long-term collectors and historians of the medium, intended to preserve the intricate narrative arcs of the era in a durable, high-quality hardcover binding that reflects the stature of this pivotal chapter in X-Men publication history.
