X-Men #94

Published in August 1975, X-Men #94 marks the official return of the X-Men title to new stories following years of reprints. This issue is historically significant as the first full adventure featuring the 'All-New, All-Different' team introduced in Giant-Size X-Men #1, solidifying the transition from the original silver-age lineup to the globally diverse roster including Storm, Nightcrawler, Colossus, and Thunderbird, all guided by Wolverine under Professor X.

The creative team behind this pivotal issue featured writer Chris Claremont and artist Dave Cockrum. Claremont’s tenure began here, setting the stage for his legendary seventeen-year run, which emphasized soap-opera-style character development and internal team dynamics. Cockrum’s design work was instrumental in visual storytelling, establishing the distinct personalities and costumes that would define the franchise for decades to come. The issue was received as a bold reinvention of a struggling title, eventually becoming the cornerstone of Marvel’s resurgence in the late 1970s.
