X-Men Archives Featuring Captain Britain #2

X-Men Archives Featuring Captain Britain was published by Marvel Comics in 1995 as part of an initiative to reprint classic UK-originated material for a wider North American audience. This specific series sought to bridge the gap between the X-Men’s core continuity and the adventures of Brian Braddock, the British hero known as Captain Britain, who had become a significant, albeit occasionally confusing, fixture of X-Men lore following his introduction to the team in the early 1980s.

The content of the second issue primarily draws from the creative output of writers like Chris Claremont and artists such as Alan Davis, who defined much of the character's visual identity during the late seventies and early eighties. These stories were originally crafted for the Marvel UK market, focusing on a more mystical and multiversal narrative style that differed from the traditional American superhero tropes of the era. The collection was designed to provide historical context to readers who had only encountered the character through his later associations with Excalibur.
