X-Men: Road to Onslaught Omnibus #2

The X-Men: Road to Onslaught Omnibus series was produced by Marvel Comics to collect a specific, high-tension era of X-Men history leading up to the 1996 'Onslaught' crossover event. This period, spanning the mid-1990s, was characterized by complex, interconnected storylines involving writers like Scott Lobdell and Mark Waid, and artists such as Andy Kubert and Joe Madureira. The goal of this collection was to provide a cohesive reading experience for a dense, sprawling narrative arc that saw the X-Men struggling with internal fractures and the encroaching psychic threat of Professor X's dark persona.

The design of the omnibus reflects Marvel’s commitment to premium archival formats, featuring durable library-style binding and extensive supplemental material that highlights the original creative team's vision. When these volumes were released, they were received as a welcome resource for collectors who wished to preserve these significant 90s stories in a more robust, long-term format than the original monthly single issues, which were often printed on lower-quality newsprint that degraded over time.
