X-Treme X-Men #19

X-Treme X-Men #19 was published in early 2003 as part of a long-running series written by Chris Claremont and illustrated by Salvador Larroca. The series emerged during a period of transition for the X-Men franchise, following the high-concept restructuring of the line in the early 2000s. Claremont, a legendary architect of the X-Men mythos, used this title to follow a rogue team of mutants operating outside the direct oversight of the X-Men mansion, focusing on global threats and the character Storm's leadership.

The art style provided by Larroca was characteristic of the era's transition toward more realistic, grounded aesthetics in superhero comics. The narrative in this issue continues the 'God Loves, Man Kills' spiritual successor arc, delving into themes of prejudice and religious extremism. While the series was often seen as a secondary title compared to the core X-Men books, it maintained a dedicated following among fans of Claremont’s character-centric writing style, eventually folding back into the main X-Men continuity as the publishing line consolidated its creative direction.
