Yane no Shita no Artemis #4

Yane no Shita no Artemis, written and illustrated by mangaka Keiko Okamoto, emerged as part of the shojo manga landscape in the late 1980s. Published by Hakusensha within the Hana to Yume imprint, the series focused on the domestic and romantic entanglements of its protagonists. The fourth volume serves as a continuation of the established narrative arc, maintaining the delicate line work and emotive character expressions characteristic of the era's shojo style.

The series is noted by scholars of manga history for reflecting the transition of shojo themes during the bubble economy era, where narratives began shifting toward more grounded, character-driven interpersonal drama. Okamoto’s design choice for the cover of volume four leans into the soft aesthetic common to the genre, intended to draw in young adult readers through its focus on quiet, intimate moments rather than high-stakes action. While it remains a niche entry within the vast catalog of 1980s manga, it is frequently cited by collectors for its representational value regarding the aesthetic standards of that period.
