Yani Neko #12

Yani Neko #12 belongs to a niche series of independent illustrated comics that emerged during the late 2010s. The series was designed to explore themes of urban isolation and surrealism, featuring a recurring feline protagonist navigating an abstract cityscape. Created by a small team of indie artists who prioritized atmospheric storytelling over traditional narrative structures, the series gained a modest following within contemporary graphic novel circles.

The aesthetic of the series is heavily influenced by minimalist Japanese woodblock prints and mid-century modern design. Artists involved in the project intentionally utilized a muted color palette and heavy line work to evoke a sense of quiet nostalgia. While the series remains a cult item, it has been noted by design enthusiasts for its consistent visual identity and the tactile quality of its small-press publication format.
