Yankee ni Koi to Ikuji wa Muzu Sugiru #1

Yankee ni Koi to Ikuji wa Muzu Sugiru, written and illustrated by Mitaoriomi, began serialization in 2021 within the digital pages of the manga platform Pixiv Comic. The series serves as a subversion of the traditional delinquent, or 'yankee,' genre, shifting the focus toward the unexpected intersection of rough-around-the-edges characters and the tender, often chaotic realities of child-rearing. The first volume collects the initial chapters that introduce the protagonist, a former delinquent navigating the steep learning curve of parenthood, framing his journey through a lens that is both humorous and character-driven.

Mitaoriomi designed the series to emphasize personal growth and the contrast between the external bravado of his characters and their internal vulnerability. Upon its debut and subsequent physical release, the series was received warmly by readers who appreciated its grounded approach to themes of responsibility and identity. Its popularity within the digital manga community led to its print collection, which has since been noted for its ability to balance lighthearted comedy with the genuine emotional stakes of family life.
