Yosoji Fukuda no Ore Gohan #1

Yosoji Fukuda no Ore Gohan, which translates roughly to Yosoji Fukuda’s My Cooking, emerged as a specialized culinary-themed manga series focused on the domestic and instructional aspects of Japanese home cooking. Released in the late 20th century, the series served as a platform for author Yosoji Fukuda to share personal recipes, techniques, and philosophies regarding food preparation, positioning the work as both an entertainment piece and a practical guide for the household.

The design and illustration style of the inaugural issue reflect the aesthetic conventions of instructional seinen manga of its era, emphasizing clarity and approachability. The work was received primarily within the niche market of hobbyist manga readers interested in gastro-literature, providing a documented glimpse into the evolving relationship between Japanese popular media and home culinary culture during that period.
