Young Dial: Shōnen Jiken Dai-Zeroka #1

Young Dial: Shōnen Jiken Dai-Zeroka launched as part of the mid-1990s boom in niche manga serializations, intended to capture the interest of young adult readers with a penchant for mystery and procedural storytelling. This inaugural issue established the series' grounded, suspense-driven aesthetic, focusing on the intersection of youth culture and complex investigative themes that defined the editorial direction of the publisher during this period.

The creative direction for the series utilized a stark, high-contrast visual style meant to differentiate it from the more lighthearted shonen magazines dominating the market. While the series did not reach the widespread mainstream dominance of its contemporaries, it remains a notable example of the experimental period in manga history when titles aimed at older teens began to shift toward more gritty, serialized crime narratives.
