Young Gangan #699

Young Gangan is a bi-weekly seinen manga magazine published by Square Enix, first established in 2004 to cater to a demographic of young adult men. Issue 699 continues the magazine’s long-standing tradition of serializing diverse titles that balance dark fantasy, slice-of-life, and experimental narratives. The publication is recognized for its high production values and its role as a launchpad for popular franchises that eventually transition into full-length tankōbon volumes.

The aesthetic direction of the magazine is defined by its clean, modern layout and the prominent use of cover illustrations that highlight leading serials or established industry artists. Like many issues in the later half of its numbering, issue 699 serves as a curated anthology, maintaining the brand identity Square Enix established by emphasizing stylistic variety and technical proficiency in illustration. It remains a fixture in the Japanese publishing landscape, valued by readers for its consistent delivery of long-running serialized content.
