Provenance

Where it came from

Fisticuffs is an equipment card featured in the Katsu Blitz Deck, released as part of the initial wave of the Flesh and Blood trading card game. Designed by Legend Story Studios, the card was created to support the Ninja class playstyle, specifically reflecting Katsu the Wanderer’s martial arts focus. The item was intended to provide accessible tactical depth for new players, serving as a functional, low-rarity tool for blocking or enhancing combat maneuvers within the fast-paced Blitz format.

The aesthetic of Fisticuffs reflects the grounded, hand-drawn fantasy art style established by the game's creative team to distinguish it from more high-fantasy competitors. By focusing on practical gear that fits the lore of a wandering martial artist, the card design aims to emphasize the visceral nature of combat in the game's setting of Rathe. It is widely recognized among players as a staple inclusion in introductory decks, valued for its utility rather than visual flourish.
