Where it came from
The Sigil of Deadwood, cataloged as LGS326 within the Local Game Store Promos set, emerged as part of a series designed to bolster community engagement at brick-and-mortar hobby shops. Released during a period when tabletop gaming retailers sought to incentivize in-person play, these promotional cards served as exclusive rewards for tournament participants and loyal patrons. The item functions as an action card within its parent game system, providing mechanical utility that emphasizes tactical board control.
The visual identity of the Sigil of Deadwood reflects the somber, gothic aesthetic characteristic of the broader expansion line. Illustrators were tasked with capturing a decaying, atmospheric motif that signaled the card's thematic ties to the underworld settings prevalent in the game's lore. Upon release, the card was received positively by the collector community, primarily due to its limited distribution window and the specific, niche utility it offered to players seeking to optimize their deck compositions for regional tournament formats.
