Where it came from
Slap-Happy, cataloged as LGS257, was issued as part of the Local Game Store Promos initiative. This series was established by the game's publisher to bolster the health of independent hobby retailers by providing exclusive, limited-distribution cards that players could only obtain by participating in organized play events hosted at brick-and-mortar storefronts.
The card features artwork commissioned to capture the lighthearted, disruptive nature of its mechanics. Designed to inject a moment of comedic tension into the standard gameplay loop, the illustration emphasizes the slapstick aesthetic common to the set's more whimsical entries. It was received by the player base as a niche tool, valued primarily by collectors and those who enjoy unpredictable, high-interaction card effects during casual sessions.
