Spike with Bloodrot

Spike with Bloodrot was released as a promotional card for the Flesh and Blood trading card game, specifically distributed through the Local Game Store (LGS) program. These cards serve as incentives to encourage community play and support independent hobby shops, often featuring alternate art or foiling processes distinct from the core expansion sets. Its issuance marked a moment where designers sought to highlight specific character archetypes within the game’s lore, grounding the card in the brutal, high-stakes aesthetic established by Legend Story Studios.

The card was designed as an attack-reaction, a mechanical staple intended to punish opponents during the combat chain. The illustration and layout reflect the dark fantasy style signature to the game, emphasizing the visceral nature of the Spike character. Like many promotional cards in the LGS series, it was received as a functional tool for competitive players and a prized aesthetic variant for collectors, reinforcing the connection between local tabletop ecosystems and the broader game evolution.
